8 Autumn/Winter Launceston Activities 2024

As the weather cools down, the leaves fall from the trees and the days get shorter, there’s still no shortage of activities in Launceston that cater to people with disabilities - no matter the weather! Here’s some Autumn/Winter 2024, Launceston-based accessible activities;

  1. Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery: This indoor museum offers a variety of exhibitions, including historical displays, art collections, and interactive exhibits. It's wheelchair accessible and can be a great place to spend a rainy day.

  2. X-Golf Launceston:  X-Golf is an indoor golf centre that features state of the art simulators and delicious food/beverages. Inside you’ll find an indoor golf and entertainment venue unlike anything you’ve seen, with the world’s best digital courses, driving range, practice mode and fun modes.

  3. Launceston Aquatic Centre: The Launceston Aquatic Centre has indoor, heated swimming pools that offer accessible facilities. Swimming is a great activity for people with disabilities, as it's low-impact and can be therapeutic.

  4. Star Theatre Sensory Sessions: Enjoy a safe and welcoming environment at one of Star Theatre’s sensory movie sessions, designed specifically for people with additional needs. Cosy up with some light entertainment and popcorn, what a great way to spend a few hours!

  5. The Launceston Library: The Launceston Library is more than just a location to find your next favourite read. It hosts events and activities suitable for all ages and abilities.

  6. The Princess Theatre: Catch one of the frequent shows at The Princess Theatre! With a full and varied program running at different times throughout the day/week, there’s truly something for everyone.

  7. Launceston Lanes: The Launceston Lanes bowling alley features 20 bowling lanes, arcade games, great food, a conference room, a licensed bar and escape rooms. And for beginners, they have a ‘Learn to Bowl’ program.

  8. Cafe Outing: Launceston has an abundance of lovely, accessible cafes that cater to dietary requirements. Some of our favourites are Apricus, Bread & Butter, Earthy Eats, Relish and Boathouse Centre.

We hope these ideas inspire you to keep getting out and about in the community this Autumn and Winter. Community connection is invaluable, no matter the weather!
