Empowering Dreams: Stories from Our Encourage Dreams Grant Winners

At Enriched Care Solutions, our core value “Encourage Dreams” isn’t just a motto—it’s something we live by every day. We believe in exploring bold ideas, helping individuals bring those ideas to life, and celebrating every step of the journey. Through our Encourage Dreams Community Grant, we’ve had the privilege of supporting incredible people with diverse dreams that uplift not just themselves but also their communities.

Our $1000 grant is designed to break down financial barriers and empower individuals with disabilities, those working in the disability sector, and their family members to realise their ambitions. Here are some inspiring stories of our recent grant recipients who are making a difference:

October 2024: Seth and Julie

In October, we were thrilled to announce two joint winners!

Seth, a passionate candle maker, is using his grant to purchase a wax melter pot, making his candle-making process safer and more efficient. His beautiful candles bring warmth and light to those around him, and we’re so excited to support his growing craft.

Julie is in the early stages of launching FREED (Finding Resources Empowering Everyone Disabled), a thoughtful initiative focused on sourcing unused disability equipment and redistributing it to individuals who need it most. Julie’s vision for a more resourceful and equitable community inspired us, and we can’t wait to see her dream take flight!

September 2024: Gifts of the Kitchen

In September, we celebrated Loveth, the founder of Gifts of the Kitchen, an initiative that brings authentic African foods to Tasmania. Loveth recognised a need in the community for better access to cultural ingredients that connect people to their roots.

With her grant, Loveth will purchase an energy-saving deep freezer, allowing her to store and offer a greater variety of foods. We’re proud to support her dream of sharing the rich flavours of African cuisine with the community!

August 2024: Nick’s Plants

Our August winner was Nickolas, the passionate owner of Nick’s Plants, a business based in Bicheno. Nickolas’s love for plants and his dedication to selling both indoor and outdoor varieties at local markets earned him well-deserved recognition.

Thanks to the grant, Nickolas will invest in equipment to expand his business, including a point-of-sale system, marketing materials, and tools to grow even more beautiful plants and vegetables. We can’t wait to see Nickolas’s garden—and his business—continue to thrive!

July 2024: Helen

In July, we awarded the grant to Helen, a devoted grandmother in Launceston. Helen cares for her grandson and sought financial support to purchase equipment that would help her lift him safely.

We love being able to directly support members of the disability community in practical and meaningful ways. Helen’s story touched us deeply, and we’re honoured to have played a small part in making her care giving journey a little easier.

June 2024: Sew Accessible

Our very first Encourage Dreams Community Grant recipient was Sarah Barrett, the founder of Sew Accessible. Sarah’s business focuses on creating clothing for children with medical and sensory needs—a service that is both practical and compassionate.

With the growing demand for her specialized clothing, Sarah needed a new machine to keep up. Her application truly stood out, and we were eager to learn more about her work. Sarah’s creativity and dedication perfectly embody what the Encourage Dreams Grant is all about!
